this clip was taken several years ago
0:04
with an old DJI model it was a foggy day
0:07
in North London and as you can see there
0:09
is a lot of luminance noise and some
0:11
chromatic noise too
0:15
let's call Nit video 6 to the rescue we
0:18
start by opening the NIT video folder in
0:21
the effect window and dragging the icon
0:23
reduce nose into our clip
0:27
with the clip selected in the effect
0:29
control window we open reduce noise and
0:32
click on prepare
0:36
wait for a few seconds and then click on
0:39
build
0:41
a window appears to prepare a noise
0:43
profile we can click on autop profofile
0:46
to let the program select a suitable
0:48
sampling area the area should be as
0:51
uniform as possible without any detailed
0:55
element containing a high amount of
0:57
noise and be relatively large the noise
1:00
level within the area shown a message
1:04
inform us that the area is too small we
1:06
can still accept it and on most occasion
1:09
the result will be acceptable
1:11
alternatively we can select another area
1:14
manually we draw a larger rectangle
1:17
until the edges turn green indicating
1:19
that it is big enough the noise level is
1:22
high enough but a message inform us that
1:25
the area is not completely uniform this
1:28
is not ideal but we can go ahead and
1:31
click on build profile and then on the
1:33
adjust and preview tab
1:35
we can now draw a rectangle showing
1:37
inside the filtered image
1:40
the preview button below toggles views
1:43
before and after the noising to better
1:46
appreciate the differences we can zoom
1:48
in 100 or 200% in the view menu on the
1:52
top left
1:54
in the same menu select show navigator
1:57
so that we can scroll around the image
2:02
it is also possible to watch a few frame
2:05
of the clip by hitting play all notice
2:08
how the noises disappeared if we're
2:10
happy with the result we can hit apply
2:12
at the bottom right
2:16
if you find that the image is a bit too
2:18
soft follow the step described in the
2:21
next chapter for sharpening
