DJI Mini 5 Pro - 50MP Photo vs12MP

Right after it release, the Mini 5 Pro

showed excellent result for video.

However, several users complained about

the quality of the 50 megapixel photo

mode.

In new models, DJI often optimizes video

performance first and then improves the

algorithm for still images via firmware

updates.

Let's see how the 50 megapixel mode

performs for still images after several

updates.

After spending a considerable amount of

time editing 50 megapixel photos, I

notice a significant improvement in the

rendition of shadows.

In high dynamic range and night images,

there is hardly any chromatic noise.

Here you can see 50 megapixel images

face to face with 12 megapixel one.

They're all in row format taken one

immediately after the other.

The differences are very subtle, but on

several occasions I obtain slightly

better results with the 50 megapixel

ones.

They respond better to color grading as

they appear to contain more information

and richer colors.
