The calibration can be performed with a
0:02
flip connected to a remote controller or
0:04
a remote device like a smartphone or
0:06
tablet. I will show you first how to do
0:09
it with a remote controller. In this
0:11
case, the RC2.
0:14
Choose an area from from metal and free
0:16
for interference. Place the flip on a
0:19
horizontal level and perfectly flat
0:22
surface.
0:24
Turn it on, making sure to have at least
0:26
50% battery time for both the drone and
0:30
the remote controller.
0:32
In the safety tab of settings, scroll
0:34
down until you find I amu normal and hit
0:37
calibrate.
0:39
A screen guides to the steps needed for
0:42
the calibration.
0:44
We are asked to position the drone in
0:46
five different positions, but from the
0:48
onscreen instruction, it's not always
0:51
evident what to do with the propeller
0:53
guards. So, I will explain and show
0:55
footage of the drone to simplify the
0:57
process.
1:00
We start by positioning it laterally
1:02
with open wings and the camera facing to
1:05
the left.
1:08
We can then hit the start button at the
1:10
bottom of the screen.
1:12
To the right, a ring shows the progress
1:15
of the process.
1:17
The second position is sitting on the
1:19
left side of the aircraft with the DJI
1:22
logo facing us and the camera to the
1:24
left.
1:26
As you can see from the footage, the
1:28
left wings are folded.
1:33
Position three is with the drone on his
1:35
back. All wings open and the camera to
1:37
the right.
1:45
Position four with the aircraft on its
1:47
right side, the right wings folded and
1:50
the camera facing right.
1:57
In position five, the drone stands on
1:59
his back showing us the right side
2:03
with the back wings folded. It is a bit
2:07
like doing yoga.
2:10
After the last position, the aircraft
2:12
will restart.
2:15
If the calibration should fail, move the
2:17
drone to a different location far from
2:19
metal and magnetic interference on a
2:22
perfectly flat surface and try again.
2:28
If you're using a smartphone or tablet,
2:30
after connecting it to the Flip, tap the
2:33
setting icon on the lower right.
2:39
Scroll down and tap more settings.
2:47
Scroll down again and tap I am normal
2:51
calibrate.
2:54
The calibration window is displayed and
2:57
you can follow the same procedure
2:59
described above.
